Who we can help
Passmores House is for adults (18+) living with drug or alcohol dependency. We work with people across a wide range of presentations, including those with complex needs, co-occurring mental health conditions and a history of trauma.
We specialise in complex detox cases, including those with multiple dependencies. All cases are overseen by a consultant in substance use psychiatry.
We’re particularly well-placed to support people who:
- Need medically supervised detox from alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines or Z drugs
- Would benefit from a structured, therapeutic residential stay
- Haven’t responded fully to community-based treatment
- Are transitioning from a hospital or prison setting and need a safe step-down environment
- Need to stabilise on opiate substitute medication before moving on to community treatment
- Have complex or multiple dependency needs requiring specialist clinical oversight
Not sure if we’re the right fit? Get in touch before you refer. We’re happy to talk through your client’s situation and advise on suitability, current waiting times and funding options.

How we work
Our approach
Recovery looks different for everyone. At Passmores House, care is shaped around each person, their history, their strengths and what matters to them.
We work alongside residents rather than directing them, and involve them in decisions about their own care throughout their time with us.
Professionals can be confident in the quality and safety of our provision and in the close working relationship we maintain with referrers, families and local services throughout every resident’s stay.
Person-centred
Every resident has an individual care plan and a dedicated keyworker. Support adapts as people progress.
Safe & effective
Fully CQC registered with robust clinical governance. Rated Good overall, Outstanding for Responsiveness.
Trauma-informed
We understand the impact of trauma and approach this with sensitivity, patience and care throughout.
Collaborative
We maintain close working relationships with referrers, families and local services throughout.
How to refer
01 Get in touch
Contact us to talk through your client’s needs. We can advise on suitability, current waiting times and funding options before you go ahead with a formal referral.
02 Complete the referral form
Submit our referral form online. You’ll need to include details of your client’s substance use history, previous treatment, medical history and any relevant legal considerations.
Documents required
- GP summary
- Recent blood test results (within the last two months)
These can come with the referral form or separately afterwards, but we can’t progress to assessment without them.
03 Assessment
We’ll review the referral and supporting documents remotely. Once approved, we’ll be in touch to discuss admission dates.
04 Admission
Once funding and acceptance are confirmed, your client will be added to our waiting list. Our bed manager will keep you and the care manager updated on availability and any clinical requirements, so the transition into treatment goes smoothly.
For current waiting times, just give us a call.
I just want to thank the staff for giving me my life back from 25 years of addiction.
