FAQs

What is rehab?

At Passmores House, we see substance dependence as a way of coping that isn’t helpful in the long run. Our rehab programmes are designed to help you manage past triggers and avoid future relapses, including: one-to-one sessions, group therapy, one-to-one counselling and complementary treatments.

What is detox?

When you are dependent on alcohol or drugs, stopping suddenly can be quite uncomfortable and, in some cases, very dangerous. A detox is a procedure where you will be medically monitored and supported to come off the substance you are dependent on relatively comfortably and safely.

Do I need a referral, or can I apply myself?

Most people come to us through a referral from their local drug and alcohol service or a professional such as a keyworker or social worker. If you’re unsure how to access a referral, we can help point you in the right direction — just get in touch with our admissions team.

What can I expect during my first day?

When you arrive, we’ll begin with an assessment, which typically takes an hour. If you’re accepted onto the programme, you’ll be invited for a tour of the facility where you can meet our team and residents. Referring agents are welcome to join the tour and meet the staff and residents as well. Please note: tours are available only if you’re free from mind-altering substances.

Once accepted, you’ll be placed on our waiting list. Our Bed Manager will stay in close contact with you and your Care Manager to ensure you’re kept up-to-date with bed availability, funding, medical issues, legal issues and support.

All beds are offered ‘pending acceptance’ after successful assessment and confirmation of funding. The Bed Manager will ensure a smooth transition into treatment.
