Charles Waddicor

Chair

Charles is a widely recognised leader and expert in the health and social care sector, with a particular interest and focus on mental health. He brings a strong track record of strategic leadership, effective governance, and measurable community impact.

He is currently a Non-Executive Director for North London NHS Foundation Trust which provides mental health services and has chaired the Finance and Investment Committee for 10 years. He is also Chair of CHKS Advisory Board and the Friends of the National Archives.

Working in a number of high-level roles across multiple NHS Trusts has meant Charles has overseen large-scale development projects as well as managing complex stakeholder environments with CCGs, local government and funding organisations. Charles has also worked as a special advisor to inspections at the Care Quality Commission (CQC), supporting the important work it does around quality, culture and governance.

As our Chair, he will play a pivotal role in guiding our vision and long-term strategy.

Charles says: “I am thrilled and delighted to be appointed as Chair of Via. The organisation embodies my values and provides effective support to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged groups in society. I hope, during my tenure, to lead the Board and build on the success of recent years.”

The UK has no women-only detox centre. We’re changing that.

The Elms will be a safe and supportive space created specifically for women.
