Is residential treatment right for me?

Get help

It’s okay to be unsure

You don’t have to know exactly what’s right for you to take the next step. Many people who explore rehab and detox programmes are still figuring out whether residential treatment is the right choice. At Passmores House, we understand that everyone’s journey is unique, and we’re here to help you make sense of your options.

Let’s find the right support together

Whether you’re considering rehab, detox, or just need advice, our team of experienced professionals is ready to listen and guide you. No question is too small, and no situation is too complex.

Which treatment option is right for you?

Medically‑supported detoxification

For individuals who are physically dependent on alcohol or drugs, detox offers the first step of safe withdrawal under medical supervision.

  • 24/7 nursing care and daily medical oversight by our consultant psychiatrist and GPs.
  • We can manage complex detoxes, including prescription opiates (methadone, buprenorphine), stimulants, benzodiazepines and poly‑substance use.
  • Gets you stabilised, physically and mentally, so you’re ready to move into rehab if needed.

Residential rehabilitation programme

Once detox is complete (or for people ready to stop their use and commit to change), our rehabilitation programme offers a structured environment for recovery.

  • Typically 12 weeks, but flexible based on your needs and complexity.
  • Mixture of one‑to‑one support, group work (substance use, healthy living, relationships, relapse prevention), and complementary therapies.
  • Life‑skills, peer support, and a safe setting away from previous environment to give you the space to rebuild.

Is residential detox and rehab right for me?

Residential detox and rehabilitation can be particularly beneficial if you experience any of the following:

  • High physical dependency: If stopping alcohol or drugs on your own may cause significant withdrawal symptoms or health risks.
  • Previous unsuccessful attempts at recovery: If outpatient or community-based support hasn’t helped you achieve lasting change.
  • Co-occurring conditions: If you have mental health issues, physical health problems, or multiple substance use alongside your alcohol or drug use.
  • Challenging home or social environment: If your current living situation makes recovery difficult, such as chaotic housing, exposure to substance use, or lack of supportive relationships.
  • Need for structured, intensive support: If you benefit from 24/7 nursing care, daily therapeutic programmes, and a safe, structured environment to focus on recovery.

At Passmores House, our team specialises in supporting people with complex needs, providing the clinical expertise, personalised care plans, and supportive environment needed for a safe and effective recovery journey.

Passmores House has not only saved my life, but also given it back to me.

Hearing from others

Many people start by learning about rehab and detox before committing. Stories from past residents show that it’s possible to build a life beyond addiction, even if recovery hasn’t worked the first time.

I just want to thank the staff for giving me my life back from 25 years of addiction.
